Study in Scenic Southern Utah Cedar City Pura Vida is nestled in the community of Cedar City, Utah. Only 2½ hours north of Las Vegas and 3½ hours south of Salt Lake City on Interstate I-15, Cedar City is a unique, bustling community surrounded by astounding beauty and unbelievable outdoor recreational opportunities. Also known as Festival City USA, Cedar City is home to the Tony Award winning Utah Shakespearean Festival, the Neil Simon Festival, the Western Arts Festival, the Thunderbird Film Festival, Groovefest, and the Utah Summer Games. With nearly 8000 students, Southern Utah University serves as an important center for the community. The University hosts numerous plays, lectures, musicals, and NCAA Division 1 athletic events. Cedar City sits near three National Parks; Zion, Bryce and the Grand Canyon are all within a few hours drive. Brianhead Ski Resort is just a 40 minute drive, over 9000' elevation and offers year-round entertainment with great skiing and outrageous mountain biking. St. George, just 45 minutes to the south, also boasts beautiful red-rock scenery for great hiking and some of the best slick rock mountain biking available. Our pleasant climate draws outdoor enthusiasts from around the world because no matter the season there is always a form of recreation. Pura Vida Our campus is located near affordable student housing, and within a short distance of the Southern Utah University campus. Our facilities include classrooms equipped with full-size skeletal models, audio/visual aids, and anatomical charts, all utilized during instruction. In the student clinic, massage tables and mats are supplied where students will perform supervised massages while earning their clinic hours. Pura Vida also has a retail bookstore where students may purchase a variety of massage and health care products.  Students are encouraged to use the campus computer lab, as well as form study groups.  Field trips to visit nearby spas and a cadaver lab will also be included in this educational process.
